As a homeowner, Resort Quest was horrible to deal with. The RQ cleaners do not clean properly, if at all. I suspect they move things around to make it look like they did. After one of their “cleanings,” I swept up piles of sand, cleaned hair and gum off of bathroom floors, cleaned my dirty kitchen of fingerprints and a mess in the sink, found dirty dishes in the cabinet that had only been rinsed and put away, not washed, kitchen table was not wiped, no vacuum marks on the carpets. It was disgusting! RQ response: “Oh, you know, it’s just a spit and a shine in the summertime, not a deep cleaning!” When I hired a private cleaner, I then had to pay a $40 fee each time RQ brought linens out. Linens were often delivered incorrectly (2 sets of towels for 10 people) and dirty linens from previous guests often sat in the bin outside for days before being picked up. Guests that were put in my home often caused damage and I had many items stolen, to which I was usually told, “Well, we can’t prove who did it!” They did fix damage to a coffee table once and I was completely shocked that it actually got done. I was left feeling that despite being nickel and dimed with fees constantly, when I needed help with something I never got it. They listed my home on Homeaway/VRBO without my permission and despite numerous, numerous requests to remove it, it’s still there months later. Do yourself a favor and keep looking elsewhere.
We rented a condo through VRBO, and have been very impressed with the resort. The beach and pools are very clean. Parking is a little confusing as the reservation numbers don't seem to follow a sequence. The only disappointment is that part of the resort is shut down for the season, but that's a fault of the VRBO listing, not the resort.
I stayed in the condo of a family member for the weekend. I loved the amenities and wish I had more time to enjoy them. I did like walking my dog on all the paths and seeing all the landscaping. The location was ideal for me - so close to the boardwalk - but my husband was disappointed in the seclusion of the condos.
Very quick service. Very polite staff that are willing to help any way they can. For example, the man in front of me forgot a high chair for his baby and the staff member had a phone number and location of a place for him to rent one for the week. Another person wanted to extend their stay by one day and the staff member was able to check if the room was still available and extend the vacation. They provide an envelope with local restaurantsand activities.
This isn't a resort, it isn't gated, and the security is the shittiest security only worried about keeping people from driving through their "private road" that doesn't have a gate... Just put a gate up and do your job, keeping people from driving out the other side of the community doesn't make people feel safe, you're just making more traffic. Sincerely, someone who lives year round on the coast and knows everywhere is better than Sea Colony anyways. They really tried to make it nice, what a shame.
